Safe Work Practices

Supervisors / Foremen:

  • Ensure materials, equipment and manpower are in place to comply with these safe work practices and job procedure.
  • Address all safety concerns that may arise while using the equipment inside.
  • Ensure all required permits are in place.

Employees:

  • Follow all safe work practices and job procedure.
  • Wear proper respiratory protection equipment when required.
  • Report any incidents, accidents or near misses to supervisor.

Do:

  • Wear respiratory protective masks.
  • Make sure ventilation rates of building working in is high
  • Check that HVAC Systems and fans are in place and properly running
  • Open windows and doors wherever possible while running equipment

Do Not:

  • Idle or run equipment for a long period of time
  • Stay away as far as reasonable possible from equipment exhaust while in use.

*Important Note: Mike's Electric workers are exposed for a short period of time only

Safe Job Procedure

  1. Shut off equipment whenever possible to avoid excessive exhaust emissions
  2. Stay away from exhaust fan while engine is running.
  3. Use Ventilation provided on property
  4. Take outside breaks regularly
  5. Wear respiratory protection while exposed to emission.
